Relishing Relishes Café

Friday, 11 December

We had hoped to dine at the Speight’s Ale House, but they had run out of food by 9PM (even though the sun had yet to set and there were 2 more hours of light!). What a stroke of good fortune! We popped next door to Relishes Café.

With the exception of an under-server named Debbie, we were the only non-Kiwis in the place. Service was delightful, and everyone was so friendly! Food was divine! Ned had goat with quinoa – yummy! I had clams from Dunedin and a scrumptious salad. We also discovered two local wines that we plan to pursue tomorrow.

Ann with scrumptious salad and Ned with yummy goat and quinoa

Jim, introduced us to locally produced Terra Sancta Rosé
Then insisted that Ned Emerson have an eponymous Pilsner

  1. The food!!!! I can't!!!!! Everything looks so good!!! Is it far enough South that it never quite gets dark right now, or do you get a full-on-dark for a few hours?
